“We worked with Helen to deliver a cross-charity piece of research into the experiences of volunteers of colour versus those of their white volunteer colleagues. This research is now known as “What the Bloody hell are you doing here?” … We have used the research in so many ways. It has informed our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategy and informed how we want to develop our volunteer and volunteer management programmes. The cross charity group also set out, with support from Helen, to create a new EDI network for volunteer managers. This is now in full operation and supporting volunteer managers to make mindful and informed choices about their practice.”
